MIXDOOR - New Forms in Mixdoor Performing Arts Practices

New Forms in Mixdoor Performing Arts Practices is a combined intercultural initiative, collaboration between art forms, artists and European countries. The four elements of the projects are the juggling and contemporary circus, vertical dance, 3D mapping and GPS-based human interface. We have made a performance structure with three stages, one outside and one inside performance linked to small, site-specific happenings on the way to the theatre. Our aim is to improve the contemporary art forms and to bring up the various arts as well as the people and continents around the globe.

The need of a fresh audience approach led us to explore different expressive means of artistic creation and underline their common ground. The process of research has determined the project's main axis: the combined use of exterior public space and the indoor theatrical spaces. (Mixdoor = outdoor & indoor).

Within the project the performers and professionals (visual, set design, technical etc.) work together with artists chosen at each performance venue.  This means that there are two preparing phases. First the permanent crew is selected, during one-week-long workshops. They will create the show in Hungary. Then during the tour of the performance, in each country, new artists will join to the company. The workshops will be organized in different countries. Hungary and Greece will dominate among the countries: The 2- week-long inspiration period takes place in Elefsina, while the performance will be created in Budapest, during a 6-week-long period, but it will be presented (together with further workshops) in almost each of the partner countries.

Mixdoor project is co-funded by Creative Europe program of the E.U

ItinaiR - A multidisciplinary performance

Is there such thing as a perfect place? If so, is it somewhere high up in the skies or is it inside each and  everyone of us?

Vertical dance and modern circus meet site-specific creation and 3D mapping in a multidisciplinary large scale performance. Our vision is to attribute new references to public space and introduce new audience into indoor theatre. ItinaiR is by nature, a site-specific creation, so each presentation will consist a unique event, inspired by and connected with the hosting environment. In each city different public spaces are connected with local sites of cultural interest (former industrial sites or cultural centres).
